Challenge: SXSW is defined by discovery, but the festival’s visual landscape is notoriously crowded. WPP Media needed to stand out without feeling out of place. The key challenge was authentically integrating the unique spirit of Austin Texas

Solution: For WPP Media’s activation at SXSW 2026, the visual identity fused two iconic cultural languages: the bold, irreverent lineage of Sailor Jerry tattooing and the larger-than-life energy of Austin’s mural scene. Thick, confident line-work and dynamic sunburst patterns—hallmarks of traditional flash art—were reimagined across environmental graphics and digital touchpoints.

The result was a space that felt both vintage and future-facing: nostalgic in craft, but unmistakably modern in media storytelling.
